"Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22.6

Our Sunday School ministry is at the heart of the Church's ministry. At Grace-Trinity, We value the promise and strength we see in our children. As it is said in the verse above (Proverbs 22:6) we are aware that we as a church has a major responsibility in training children in the Christian faith.

Far beyond the children's candid appeal, Sunday School ministry is at the heart of the Church's ministry in many important ways. According to David Francis, "Sunday School in a foundational way, addresses all the five functions of the Church: worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry" (Francis D, Leading Adults, Winter 06). All of these important aspects of faith have their roots in Sunday School. Early childhood research shows that rapid brain development in children happens in children for the first nine years of their life. It is during this period that lifelong habits are developed.

Coming together

Our Curriculum is selected with care to engage young, enquiring minds with eternal Bible truths and their application in daily life. Long-term themes are divided into individual lessons that impact different age levels appropriately. Our teaching team uses their creativity to accommodate individual learning styles at the same time, often juggling between different mediums of music, skits, art and literacy activities.

Learning Together

Children at Grace-Trinity are not only taught to look inward at their personal relationship with their Creator-God but also outward by exploring means of being a light to the society around them. This paradigm has promoted our children to think of their counterparts in different parts of the world who are less fortunate than themselves. Every year our Sunday School children have joyfully collected money for Christmas gift projects that have gone to orphanages in India and Pakistan. Although they currently live a comfortable lifestyle, they are taught to be sensitive to the needs of children in deprived circumstances.

Praising God Together

It has been heartwarming to walk into a classroom and observe the visual, auditory, kinesthetic and spatial learners having fun discovering God’s word together.

Giving Together

Children at Grace Sunday School are not only taught to look inward at their personal relationship with their creator God, but also outward by exploring means of being a light to the society around them. This thought has prompted our children to think of their counterparts in different parts of the world who are less fortunate than themselves. Every year, our Sunday School children have joyfully collected money for Christmas gift projects that have gone to economically and/or mentally challenged children in orphanages in India and Pakistan. Living in a country of plenty, they are learning to be sensitive to the needs of children in deprived circumstances. They also support a World Vision child with their Sunday offertory. We are also blessed to have loving, supportive families who deepen the children’s faith with daily devotions and reading of the Bible. Our dedicated Sunday School teachers team find that we receive as much or, often, more than what we give in our interactions with the children.

The Sunday School ministry is a precious one and it is always a joy to watch our children grow in grace by the power of God.

Please bring your children every Sunday at 10am.
